| Tenerife: This is the largest of the Canary Islands and it is made up of various micro climate zones although the difference is most noticeable between the north and the south of the island. The one in the north which is more lush and green, where as in the south it is dryer and not quite so green, these are separated by the mountainous areas that run up the middle with the peak being Mt Teide some 3,718m, as you would expect the peak has snow on it for part of the winter. |

If you are lucky and have a flight that lands during daylight then you may get some great views of Mt Teide and the island as you come in to land at Tenerife South “ Reina Sofia” . The airport is usually quite busy, but is also quite quick at getting the baggage through to the collection halls. As you come out of the arrival hall you can see that the airport is very well served by local transport and holiday tour companies. The local taxis are generally quite good and quick to get you to your destination, local busses are a lot cheaper but take longer, and you still probable need a taxis to get you right to the door of your accommodation.If you are very lucky you may see whilst flying over Tenerife, a very beautiful natural phenomenon called the “Sea of Clouds”. This beautiful sight can also sometimes be seen whilst walking in the hills above 1800m. |

Once you are here there are plenty of things to do and many things to see or perhaps you may prefer to just laze by the pool and read a book in the bright warm sunshine drinking a long cool drink. |
The mountainous interior of Tenerife make for a lush rainforest walks and the opportunity to reach some of Tenerife’s heady heights along the foothills of the world’s third largest dormant volcano. If you enjoy walking then Tenerife is for you as there are plenty of hillside walks scattered between the small villages offering a peaceful places to rest and enjoy the traditional Canarian lifestyle. |
