| Sweethaven Village other wise known as Popeye Village was originally constructed for the musical film production “Popeye”. The film set was constructed in the last seven months of 1979 and it still remains true to the original construction to this day, as can be seen by some of the photo’s shown. |

Most of the buildings are constructed of wood and are still painted the bright colours, so it looks very bright and cheerful. I found the time spent at Popeye village quite interesting as there were a number of shows put on through out the day “see photo’s”. There are a number of other shops such as a souvenir shop, silversmith‘s where you can watch the making of some of the jewellery that is sold on the premises. There are also thing’s for the younger one’s like the Photo studio, and a cinema. |

New for July-08 is the splash pool, and for the younger one’s there is the play pool which is situated at the far end of the village and surrounded by sun beds for the adults. There is as well the seafarers snack bar situated on the left as you enter the village complex which was very reasonably priced “June-08”. There are a number of actors in the village in full costume creating fun and laughter for the visitors, just watch out for the policeman as you may get a fine. |
The upper part of the complex where the bus stop can be found, offers a complete range of facilities such as a bar, restaurant with veranda for outside dining. it offers plenty of amusements for the younger children where they are saft to play happily. |
